Monuments create a landscape of our values. They commemorate statesmen, heroes and victims of wars, and represent the officially respected qualities. They are used as a tool in constructing collective identity. As borders shift and political regimes change, monuments of the past era are torn down, recycled and renamed.

The three exhibitions in Warsaw, held at Sculpture Museum in Królikarnia, Kordegarda Gallery, and Exhibition Bureau Gallery, are presenting biographies of Central and Eastern European monuments.
